Bio

I was raised internationally. The son of a New York Times foreign correspondent, film, theatre, and book critic and an Argentine painter and mother of seven, I grew up traveling and lived in various different countries. I was born in Bogota, Colombia and soon moved to Maryland, USA. I lived in Belgrade, former Yugoslavia, then in Madrid, Spain and in London, England. I returned to the US for middle and high school in New York, followed by two years of high school in Paris, France. I picked up a smattering of languages and fluency in both French and Spanish. I then returned to NY where I graduated from high school and went on to university at SUNY Binghamton. I completed a double degree in Art History and experimental Filmmaking. I moved to New York City and after 3 months of pounding the pavement, I landed my first job in the film industry - three days of work on a commercial as a PA. While working as a PA, I was trained in the electric and camera departments. I was given the opportunity to join the camera union, and so, over the years, as I worked my way up through the system old-school style - loader, 2nd assistant, focus puller, camera operator, I sought out opportunities to shoot as much as possible. I have directed the photography on student films, shorts, documentaries, spec commercials, music videos, and seven independent feature films. Most recently, I was the lighting cameraman for a dramatic TV series (20 episodes) and a DP on a documentary TV series. I have lived in the LA area for about one year and am looking to connect and collaborate with like-minded directors and/or producers.
